Common Applications of Trunnion Ball Valves

These valves are ideal for a wide range of applications including potable water systems, wastewater treatment, and the petrochemical industry. They are also widely used in heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and in the oil and gas industry for low to medium pressure applications.

1. Floating Ball Design :

   • The ball is not stationary and floats within the valve body, allowing fluid pressure to push it against the seat to achieve an effective seal.
   • This design ensures a tight seal, even at low pressures.

2. Cast Construction :

   • Manufactured by casting, allowing for mass production and availability in a wide variety of sizes.
   • Common materials include stainless steel, carbon steel, and other corrosion-resistant materials.

3. Efficient Stamps :

   • Equipped with high quality seals such as PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) and elastomers, which ensure a long service life and reliable sealing.
   • The seals can be replaced, making maintenance easier.

   • Generally operated by a manual lever actuator, but also available with pneumatic or electric actuators.
