Industrial Stainless Steel Valves for Fluid Control

At CEMATIC, we offer the widest variety of industrial stainless steel valves for systems that demand corrosion resistance, hygiene, and long service life. Additionally, we have manual and automated models to suit any process. That's why we are the trusted supplier for industry in Mexico and the United States.

Types of valves available

Below you will find the main types of stainless steel valves we offer. Furthermore, each type is available in multiple connections and configurations, so you will always find the right option for your process:

  • Ball Valves: Available with NPT threads, ANSI 150/300 flanges, clamp, and 3-way. We also have high-pressure models up to 3200 WOG. They are ideal for cutting off and allowing fluid flow in general industrial processes.
  • Butterfly Valves: Available in wafer, lug type, high performance, and hygienic clamp versions. Therefore, they are the preferred option for flow control in large diameter pipelines.
  • Check Valves: We have wafer disc, swing, vertical, Y-type, weldable, and hygienic clamp models. They are also available with PTFE, Viton, or metallic seats depending on the application. They are essential for preventing fluid backflow in process lines.
  • Angle Seat Valves: Available with pneumatic actuator and NPT or hygienic clamp connection. They are also ideal for fluids with suspended solids and gravity drainage.
  • Solenoid Valves: Available in 2 and 3-way, with direct and piloted action. Therefore, they are the most efficient solution for automation and electrical flow control.
  • Sanitary Clamp Fittings: Include clamps, elbows, tees, and reducers in stainless steel. They are also compatible with all our clamp connection valves to complete your hygienic installation.

Stainless steel grades: which one to choose?

Not all stainless steel grades are created equal. Therefore, it is important to choose the correct one according to the fluid and process conditions. Likewise, an inadequate grade can reduce the valve's service life or compromise system safety:

  • SS 304 (18% Chromium, 8% Nickel): Offers moderate resistance to general corrosion. Therefore, it is ideal for water, air, and general industrial processes where the fluid is not aggressive. It is also the most economical option of the three.
  • SS 316 (16% Chromium, 10% Nickel, 2% Molybdenum): Offers high resistance to chlorides and acids thanks to the molybdenum in its composition. Therefore, it is the recommended option for the chemical, petrochemical, saline water, and general manufacturing industries.
  • SS 316L (low carbon content): In addition to the resistance of 316, it offers greater resistance to intergranular corrosion. Therefore, it is the required grade in the food, pharmaceutical industries, and in CIP/SIP processes where aggressive cleaning agents are applied.

In summary, if your process involves aggressive fluids or high temperatures, SS 316 or SS 316L grade is the best option. On the other hand, for general applications with water or air, SS 304 is sufficient and more economical. In addition, our technical team can help you choose the correct grade at no additional cost.

Connections and configurations available

The correct connection depends on the type of installation and the process. For example, clamp connections are mandatory in hygienic applications, while flanged connections are used in high-pressure systems. Additionally, each type follows a specific standard that guarantees compatibility and safety:

  • NPT Thread (ANSI/ASME B1.20.1): It is the most common connection in general industrial processes such as chemical, manufacturing, and industrial water. However, it is not suitable for hygienic use, as the exposed thread can accumulate residues and makes cleaning difficult.
  • ANSI 150 Flange (ANSI B16.5): It is ideal for oil, energy, and industrial water systems. It also allows easy disassembly for maintenance. However, it is also not suitable for hygienic use.
  • ANSI 300 Flange (ANSI B16.5): It is the recommended option for high-pressure applications in petrochemical and energy. Therefore, it offers greater mechanical resistance than ANSI 150.
  • Tri-Clamp (ISO 2852 / DIN 32676): It is the quintessential hygienic connection. It also allows quick disassembly for CIP/SIP cleaning. Therefore, it is mandatory in the food, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology industries.
  • Weldable: It is ideal for permanent installations in sanitary pipelines. It also offers a sanitary finish Ra ≤ 0.8 µm that eliminates cavities where bacteria can accumulate. Therefore, it is also suitable for hygienic processes.

Applications by industry

Our stainless steel valves are used in a wide variety of industrial sectors. For example, they are common in processes where hygiene and corrosion resistance are priorities. They are also the preferred option when the fluid is aggressive or operating conditions are extreme:

  • Food and beverages: For production lines, filling, and CIP/SIP processes. Therefore, we recommend SS 316L with clamp or weldable connection to comply with FDA and 3A standards.
  • Pharmaceutical: For sterile processes, purified water, and WFI. Likewise, the SS 316L grade with clamp connection guarantees compliance with EHEDG and GMP standards.
  • Chemical: For handling acids, solvents, and corrosive fluids. Therefore, we recommend SS 316 with NPT thread or ANSI flange depending on the system pressure.
  • Petrochemical: For process lines with hydrocarbons and steam. Additionally, ANSI 150 or 300 flanges in SS 316 ensure the necessary mechanical resistance.
  • Water and treatment: For distribution, dosing, and flow control. In this case, SS 304 or SS 316 with NPT thread or ANSI flange is the most efficient option.
  • Manufacturing: For industrial pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Also, models with ISO 5211 mounting allow easy process automation.

Automation: compatibility with actuators

All our valves with ISO 5211 mounting are compatible with pneumatic and electric actuators. Thanks to this, you can switch from manual to automated operation without changing the valve. Additionally, we deliver them assembled, calibrated, and tested. Therefore, you do not need to make adjustments when installing:

  • Pneumatic Actuators: Operate with compressed air and are very fast. Therefore, they are ideal for repetitive cycles and environments with explosion risk. They also reduce operating costs compared to electrical systems.
  • Electric Actuators: Allow ON-OFF and modulating control with great precision. They are also available in Ex-Proof versions for hazardous areas. Finally, their torques range from 15 NM to 500 NM to adapt to any valve size.
